Mark Brown has a myriad of experiences in the Healthcare IT (HIT) industry, including operations management, project management, business development, and Capability Maturity Model Integration. Mr. Brown has extensive familiarity in working with healthcare payers, Medicare Advantage and Part D programs, Inpatient and outpatient payer systems, Fee-for-Service applications, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) IT infrastructure. Since receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree from DeVry Institute of Technology in 1991, Mr. Brown has spent 22 years in the IT sector. Driven by his desire to create innovative and value based IT services in the healthcare industry, Mr. Brown founded BrownIT in 1999. Upon the Company’s inception, Mr. Brown leveraged an existing relationship with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) to perform IT consulting services on a variety of Y2K compliance projects, where he earned a reputation as a reliable source for a broad range of technical solutions.

 

Over the last 14 years, Mr. Brown has aggressively sought to be a heavily relied upon partner for numerous organizations in the government contracting industry. With a high degree of technical acumen and tenacity for business development, Mr. Brown has brought specialized IT services and solutions to some of the nation’s largest healthcare agencies by securing tens of millions in awarded contracts. As an industry expert in healthcare IT, Mr. Brown understands the growing trends and challenges faced with care providers, payers, and infrastructure. With the effects of the Affordable Care Act, government agencies will rapidly expand to meet the demands of patient care. Given this new outlook in our healthcare system, Mr. Brown has perfectly positioned his company to be at the heart of this growth and seeks to become an industry leader in the government healthcare market.

 

Prior to starting BrownIT, Mr. Brown worked for the following organizations: Verizon, First Data Merchant Services, and the Woolworth Corporation. He served in a technical capacity in the positions of software engineer, programmer, system analyst, and application developer.
